NYP OPEN HOUSE 2009!
Whoots! im back from NYP OPEN HOUSE 2009! its realli a great performing experience for mi through out this whole entire 3 days!
Let mi break it down yo!
OPEN HOUSE DAY 1! (08/01/09)
Reached school at 8am for Metrology/QC class.. it was an important lecture that day.. so i cant missed it.. and it was important indeed.. phew.. lucky i never miss it...
Headed to Block E for dance Prac! Did final full run at 1045am.. before heading to the atrium...
Prepared everything.. got changed... put on accessories.. caps.. and Wham! we started walking to the atrium..
The moment we reached the atrium... i was like... "damn.. so many people!" and not to mention.. alot of secondary schools students..
The Emcees introduced us and then we went into position.. at that moment.. i couldnt believe im actually there gonna perform for Open House.. WITH Foreign Bodies some more...
*tempo has reached Critcal level... tempo has reached Critical level....*
the show is ON!
Bounce cheoro was alright for mi.... quickly rushed to the back after that to changed for guys cheoro!
In no time.. the guys cheoro music came... and i cant tink much.. and ran out to hype the crowd...
Gave all i can to the performance!
following up is the girls hip hop... sexay!!!!
the first slot ended very fast... of course with alot of people crowding around to watch!
Jia Rui and Chaozhong gave us comment after the performance..saying that its pretty messy.. not syncro-ed enough.. off timing also...
Stayed at the atrium central garden stage to support our felllow junior, anisa, who is also my group member for danceworks... she is singing for open house.. so we sat there and support.. but we never knew that she is the last singer to sing.. so we waited and waited and listen to the other singers before her...
and wow... her singing is realli dope! no doubt is the NYP Orion singing competition Champion!
Taufik Batisah was there at 2pm.. for NYP Open house... and wow.. the crowd.. his fans are damn lot.. realli alot alot.. manage to catch a clear view of him... dun realli look much different from wat we see in the tv...
well.. u know.. some celebrities can look very different in real life and in tv.. so yea..
Did another full run at 345... headed down to atrium for 445 slots after that... this time we are more confident.. given the first slot experience..
and whoott!!! this time the crowd is even larger than the earlier one! i was totally like bewildered... people are looking and standing there waiting to watch Foreign Bodies perform.. there are like people every where!
The show started! this time it was alot alot better! i was more on the beat and stuff...
everyone feel more confident dancing it alreadi...
the girls hip hop was soooooooo niceeee on tat timeslot..like realli on the music and looks very very gud!
Break off for the day after that performance...
NYP OPEN HOUSE DAY 2! (09/01/09)
Supposed to meet at 9am.. but i woke up late.. reached school at bout 10am.. yea its 1 hr late! -.-
did the same ting.. full run at 1040... and headed down to atrium for 1205 slot performance...
and this time.. day 2 is not my day..
firstly. for bounce opening cheoro.. i screwed up... there was this part that my side were to go down.. and then come up.. but at that moment.. i dunno wat the heck i was tinking... they went down.. and i went up.. then when they went up.. i went down! OO!!!! so malu after that...
then for guys cheoro.. i try my best not to go think bout wat happened in bounce cheoro.. then guess wat... i screwed guys cheoro as well!!! im totally off form on day 2!
after the whole performance.. some seniors said we did not do better than the 1st day.. in fact.. alot inferior than the 1st day.. especially compared to 1st day 2nd slot.. as the 1st day 2nd slot..we did alot etter..
but there are other seniors that fnd that we were better than the 1st day.. in a way whereby we are cleaner and sharper in our moves compared to day 1...
then just as we were bout to go back to Block E.. the emcess announced bout Jean Deanker and the mediacorp roadshows.. and all of us went to the central stage to sit down and watch.. they played "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and whoo hoo... Anisa (junior), Jonathan(BBoy) and Hanisa (senior)... they all went up and played the game.. it was sooo fun la.. watching them... especially Hanisa... she was like as if she hold an outdoor concert to Mariah Carey's "Touch your Body".
and u know wats the best part.. hahaha.. that song was not in the game list.. Jean Deanker asked her wats her favourite artist.. and she said mariah carey.. and BAM! the DJ put t Mariah Carey song.. and its not in the game list.. but she still got the lyrics right in the end!
then they further promote other shows like "serves you right" and "red thread"
For "red Thread".. the cast actually came..and its Celeste Chong! Julian Hee! and Tracy Tan!
to be honest.. Celeste Chong realli look very gud and beautiful.. hahhahaa.. never had i expect to see her in real life.. upclose some more..
well.. For day 2.. we were told that the night open house performance.. Foreign bodies will be using the stage.. and due to the limit of the stage.. hence guys cheoro.. girls cheoro... and bounce were taken out..
NYP OPEN HOUSE DAY 3! (10/01/09)
Reached school at bout 10am as well.. had breakfast with beverly, arisa, anisa, hector... chatted on a few stuffs..
then beverly told us she is still pek cek over wat happened on day 2 night open house..
apparently.. like wat was mentioned above.. Fb was to use the stage.. but when it was the time.. there was this drum set tingy on the stage..and the crew refused to remove it..so Foreign Bodies had to Dance at the open area in the atrium.. which could actually mean.. everyone could have participated in the performance like any of the other..and dun have to take out any items... but oh well.. wats done is done..
had dry run at 1120am... Somehow during dry run.. we lost the form and everything..
so we try to brush up a bit... then headed down to the atrium...
the crowd aint that lot compared to the first 2 days..
this time... im sooooo glad that i have done so much better compared to day 2... was more on the beat and timing..
during the closing locking mass dance.. there was tis part where we had to turn and pose.. and after i turn.. guess wat.. my specs FLEW!! it flew so high and so far that it didnt hit anyone that is near mi.. can u imagine that?
then one of the lecturer quickly ran out and took the specs.. lest anyone step on it while we are still posing and dancing..
after the performance.. went to the room where we put our bags.. and guess wat.. i was soo tired that i fell asleep in the room.. for like a whole 2 hours... while the rest were gaming "left 4 dead"... some are sleeping as well..
Headed down to the atrium at bout 2pm.. to catch campus superstar finalist.. as they had a roadshow.. well... its was pretty alright... the crowd were mainly young teens... like sec 1 to 2... Felicia Chin, pornsak, Li teng and Yuan Shuai came as well..as they are the host for the whole CSS show..
after that... headed back to Blk E for last prac... and oh my.. was realli syncronising to the max... and i got stuck in the spinning part..
okaye.. i have to confess... we were supposed to spin with our left leg.. but due to my knee injury.. i always spin using my right leg.. the same goes for the rest of the shows before that.. so yea..
then Justin came and guide mi in spinning with my left leg... took mi realli realli long to even get a grasp of it.. on top of that.. its onli like an hour left to final show.. and im stuck with the left leg spinning tingy... Dori, ysabel, raffy all were there to guide mi and help mi.... THANK YOU guys soooo much!!! thank you for being realli so patient with mi and teaching mi how to realli spin.. even though i took realli realli long to even grasp it...
After syncronising.. FINAL DRY RUN... then headed down to the atrium...
i guess i was soo thirsty after all the dry run and syncronising.. the first ting i head for when i hit the atrium is the ice mountain water bottle in the ice tub... grab a bottle and drank like half of it...
the crowd started to form.. and grew larger... as it the ending alreadi..
WHAM!
the Performance is ONNN!!!
this time i full out for bounce.. hit every details i could remember... didnt screw up anything.. and this time... im feeling damn high! hahahaa...
changed into guys cheoro black tee... and i try to not stress myself too much regarding the spinning ting... and the song came!
went out and hype the crowd.. this time.. i gave my all.. leaving nothing behind and make sure i hit every beat and every details... and guess wat! i managed to spin with my left leg!!!!!!!!!!! although lose a bit of balance.. but i did it! hit back to the music and did the whole cheoro full out!
the whole performance ended with a locking mass dance.. and damn.. the atmosphere was just so high.. was realli great!
NYP open House finally came to a close... and thru this journey.. i realli had to say i have learnt alot alot..
i can clearly remember last year.. i stood there and watched FB perform.. never did i expect this year i would be performing with them!
last time when i used to see them perform.. i would tell myself.. how i wish i can do those cheoros and realli be a part of it.. and it came true!
i have to say learning the guys cheoro wasnt easy for mi.. i always have this mindset in the past that i cant do dope cheoros... but after this.. i came to realise that with practice..actually nothing is impossible.. of course there are times that i have the tot of giving up.. but im realli glad that i hanged on and get the chance to perform tgt with foreign bodies... thank you so much!
and somehow.. this performance pretty much marks more or less the last performance as juniors for us.. because the next one will be club crawl.. and by then we will be seniors alreadi...
sadly to say.. i havent got the visuals yet.. but once i got it i will blog it up.. i took so many pictures with so many people that i couldnt even remember who i took with and whose camera was it..
alright.. so thats all i have for u for NYP Open House 2009!
